My Artwork

The art I have created is called "Soul". It consists of the colors Purple, Blue, Red, Orange and Green. I made this swirly design and colored it with different shades of all these colors. The subject matter of this piece is representing the soul of someone. All their true colors and emotion represented with these curvy shapes and shades. It shows how a persons life or personality wont be perfect, and things wont stay in a straight line without having ups and downs. What I used to create this piece was small and thin brushes so I could get in between the thin lines and try to get a clean, smooth application. My goals as an artist is to make something I know i'll be proud of and also love. I want to be able to create anything that I have in my mind and be able to make it come to life and also express myself while I'm at it. I want to be able to become more talented and be able to make something bolder without little to no errors. My piece "Soul" came out exactly like how I imagined it do and I am proud of myself for this work.

This piece was created using the paper marbling method. I chose the colors pink, blue, purple and yellow to make this work come to life. I chose these colors because when they are put together, it reminds me of the summer. I did three flower shapes, one with blue, one with yellow and pink, and one with blue and pink. This piece gives me sort of a nostalgic feeling.

This Piece was created using the paper marbling method. The paper marbling method is where you use a bowl of water gel and add any color of ink and make what ever shapes you want with the ink! I used the colors green, blue and two different shades of purple because I feel like the three compliment each other really well. This piece reminds me of me and my mom because her favorite colors are purple and green, while mine are purple and blue.

This piece was created using the Ink Blowing Method. This method is done by using any color ink, a small straw and a piece of paper. By making the ink travel on the paper to make what ever design, I used the straw and lightly blew into it and pointed it the direction I wanted the ink to travel. I made a cartoon Cherry Blossom Tree. What inspired me to do this design was my grandma, who reminds me of a cherry blossom tree. She reminds me of this because of her pink rosy cheeks, her beautiful personality and the kindness she spreads everywhere she goes.
This piece was created by using the candle smoke method. This method is done by holding up a piece of paper over a burning candle and letting the smoke flow onto the paper. While doing so, I was able to make the shape of an eye so I could go over it with pencil. I drew thin lines to create sort of an eye shape, and connected all the eyes together. What inspired me to do this piece was my relationships with the people I love. The meaning of this piece is no matter how dark of a place you might be in, there will always be someone holding onto you and staying by your side no matter what.

The theme of this piece is dreams vs. nightmares, I chose nightmares. This piece shows a dark room with one door and lots of eyes watching over the door. Some eyes are peeking through cracks in the wall, while there are some black vines coming out of the cracks. I did each of the eyes a different color and all different sizes. What inspired me to do this piece was a dream I had that looked like this but with more detail and more eerie. The meaning I chose behind this piece is the fear of being pressured into doing the wrong thing or always being watched. All my life I've had the biggest fear of being watched or being in front of a crowd of people. The meaning of this piece shows by the eyes watching over the door, as if that is the path they want you to take.
This piece is called "Seeing through", I chose this name because the art shows eyes looking towards each other, and seeing one other's true colors and true self. For this piece I chose to use a portrait as a canvas. Underneath the glass, I painted the eyes and background on a small cardboard cut out, and for the little details like the swirls of colors and the rainbow leopard prints I did on top of the glass. I also decided to paint the frame black, as it could make the colors in the center pop more. What inspired me to do this piece was my interest in using multiple different colors and finding a way to bring it all together, and also my interest in drawing or painting eyes.

This piece is called "Earths Beauty". I chose this name for the piece because the art represents the other side of our world and their ecosystem, for it is much more different and beautiful than ours. This piece was created with different colors and shades of blue, purple, orange and green and is also used with watercolor paint. I used the alcohol dropper method for the texture / pattern of the blue ocean beyond the whale to create a kind of unique pattern in the water. For shading of the colorless parts beyond the square, I used a sharpie pen for outlining and also to shade using the stippling method. What inspired me to do this piece is my love for the ocean, as well as any species of sea life and whales. I find ocean life to be extraordinary and the most beautiful part of this earth.
This piece is called "Wonders. I gave this piece this name because while I was making it I was using my imagination and wondering what else I could add on to cover the whole picture in something that reflects my mind. In the making of this piece, I used the masking fluid method which is when you take masking fluid and draw the designs you want then let it dry. Once it's dry you paint over it with any type of paint and I used watercolor. After the paint dries, I peeled off the masking fluid and this is how it turned out. What inspired me to do this piece was my wonder of what I can do with some simple, small swirly lines and also the type of style art my mom likes.

This piece is called "Deep under". This piece shows a Siren floating in the depths of the beautiful, dark blue ocean, living with the seaweed. I used a variety of different blues and greens and combined them to make the ocean. For the Siren, I used orange, red, and white paint to create her skin color. I used a glittery paint and mixed it with both green and blue to make the two shades. For the Seaweed, I used different shades of green using black and green. I had the idea for a Siren because growing up, I always had a huge obsession with mermaids, sirens, nature and fantasy. A Siren represents life, fertility, renewal, and the power of the ocean. They can also represent danger, temptation, and the unknown. Sirens and Mermaids have been a big part of my imagination all my life. I love how majestical they are, how mysterious and beautiful they can be, and the beauty of their life, home and nature.
